Our History
 
Based on Taiwan’s University Act, National Sun Yat-sen University Foreign Language Training Center was established in 1981 to support the academic research of the university and to promote the development of the country. Originally a language training center in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, the Center became an independent institution and was renamed Foreign Language Training Center (FLTC) in 1995. In 1997, FLTC was incorporated into the Office of Continuing Education Affairs, and since August 2014, FLTC has been affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts at NSYSU.
In 2018,  FLTC was incorporated into the Office of Industrial Collaboration and Continuing Education Affairs, and since August 2018, FLTC has been acquired by the Continuing Education Div..
 
Our Objective & Missions
 
The objective of FLTC is to promote lifelong education and cooperative education, and to enhance students’ language learning and the training of professionals in language education.
Our missions:
1. We organize foreign language training for NSYSU students and local citizens.
2. We are commissioned by government and private sectors to offer foreign language courses.
3. We provide foreign language learners with all kinds of cooperative education.
 
Our Courses
 
1. We offer preparation courses for language proficiency examinations such as GEPT, TOEIC, TOEFL, and IELTS.
2. We offer professional English courses: Business English, English Facilitation Skills Training, Business English Presentation Skills Training, English Conversation, News English, Translation, etc.
3. We also offer courses on Japanese, German, French, Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish, etc.
4. We are commissioned by government and private sectors to offer customized courses.
 
Services
 
National Sun Yat-sen University Foreign Language Training Center is the authorized British Council IELTS registration center, and we also hold On-Campus TOEIC tests.
(The Center was awarded the Best Partner of British Council in 2013.)
